HAWAIIAN TROPIC – REPURPOSING MOBILE ASSETS
Turtle Transit Shines in Repurposing Sun Care Cabana
To promote the launch of Hawaiian Tropic’s new luxurious sun care product line, Stage Active Brand Marketing worked with Turtle Transit to execute an impressive mobile exhibit program. Turtle revitalized an existing 16’ X 16’ mobile exhibit from a previous Hawaiian Tropic campaign with a fresh new design and build. The exhibit was re-designed with a modern spa look & feel, and re-built with a lighter weight structure for quicker set-ups and easier breakdowns.
Turtle’s first objective was to re-build the exhibit with a lighter weight structure. The existing structure leveraged a thatch roof, which not only was heavy, but difficult for event staff to assemble. To lighten the weight of the exhibit, Turtle fabricated a wood-slat roof with lexan sheeting, which was water resistant and allowed light to enter the exhibit. Turtle also installed roof-top signage. Not only was the roof easy to assemble, but provided more of a spa look and feel.
The exhibit’s gazebo structure and patio deck were skinned with birch, and re-stained with a lighter color treatment as well as fire resistant. Turtle refined the exhibit’s interior and installed LED lighting, vibrant hanging-branded fabrics, and silk curtains. The interior was also merchandised with comfy cabana furniture, a back wall display with shelves for product samples, and a custom display chest, which housed an iPod dock and wireless PA system.
Turtle re-branded two custom push carts with new graphics and branded overhead umbrellas. The program’s push-carts would carry samples of its new Sun Care products on event location. To expand the exhibit’s footprint and allow event staff to hit multiple locations in each market, Turtle custom built new interactive stand-alone kiosks for display and data-capture. Turtle hand-sculpted sand accepts on the bottom exterior of the display kiosks using fiberglass and foam. Bamboo accents, die-cut signage, and branded umbrellas were also installed to complete the spa-like look and feel.
Turtle fabricated a lap-top kiosk with vibrant graphics, bamboo accents, and overhead signage to capture data of consumers who can enter the Discover the Beauty Sweepstakes for a chance to win a luxurious vacation. To attract consumers to the Sun Care Cabana, Turtle custom built four A-frame directional signs. The frames leveraged wood and bamboo accents and hanging branded signage. Turtle’s sister company, Ad Vehicles, a specialty leasing company, also leased a promotional gooseneck trailer and tow vehicle to transport the exhibit program on tour.
Turtle branded the vehicles with vibrant vinyl graphics to promote the tour in transit. Consumers can visit the Hawaiian Tropic Sun Care Cabana Exhibit during The Beauty of Sun Protection Tour this spring. Inside the Cabana Exhibit, consumers are welcomed by tour staff and offered free complimentary massages, product samples, and special giveaways.
