MCDONALD’S, VOLVO, AND NASCAR – RETURN TO THE ROAD IN EARLY 2009
It was an exciting start to the New Year for Turtle. January seemed like the month of refurbishments, and we got right to work restoring vehicle programs for McDonald’s, Volvo, and NASCAR. The three popular brands were ready to get their mobile tours back on the road again for 2009, and asked Turtle to assist them with fresh new looks and vehicle modifications. Just last summer, the McDonald’s sampling tour went on the road to introduce consumers to its new line of McCafe products. Turtle teamed up with Arnold Worldwide to design a 16’ custom kitchen trailer, which was towed by a branded cargo van. The trailer was uniquely transformed into a mobile café, with the interior fully customized as an operating kitchen including: custom built cabinetry, kitchen sinks, specialty coffee machines, refrigerators, a proprietary water filtration system, and vending window. In January, we installed vibrant new graphic wraps on the cargo van and kitchen trailer, while updating a bunch of interior modifications to improve visibility and the customer experience. With our sister company Ad Vehicles, LLC; Turtle leased a refrigerated chase vehicle for the tour as well.
As the Volvo’s XC60 from Sweden with LÖV Tour arrived, our talented design team installed comprehensive branded graphics on two 53’ gooseneck trailers. Despite the tight time frame and size of the trailers, Turtle managed to complete printing and installation in only a week. The sleek and stylish finish of the graphics will compliment the trailers on the road, as they transport the display vehicles and array of tour elements from each city.
To get NASCAR ready for the upcoming Daytona Street Tour, an annual Ford Championship Weekend event, Turtle teamed up with the Gelfand Group to spice up its tour vehicles. New graphics were installed on a custom Ford Fusion and Ford F-150 truck. The ‘08 graphics were replaced and updated for 2009, with colorful spot graphics that should definitely create a buzz this year. This spring, Turtle will be building brand new tour vehicles for NASCAR’s Street Tour, taking place in Miami, Florida late November. Nothing excites us more than, when our partners announce a re-launch of a mobile tour.
