                            NATIONWIDE COMMUNITIES CHEER FOR READER'S DIGEST
                Custom RV Built by Turtle Visits 100 Cities for “We Hear You America Tour”

     Reader’s Digest is hitting the road and plans to vist 100 communities with its “We Hear You America” campaign, offering financial support across the U.S during these difficult economic times. The campaign will kick-off a 100-city RV tour designed to showcase the “Best in America” and provide promotional and financial stimulus to help cities counter the economic downturn.

     To help Reader’s Digest spread its goodwill message to nationwide communities, Turtle Transit was asked by WEDU to design a custom RV to promote the campaign on its cross-country tour. Turtle printed and installed a vibrant graphic wrap promoting the campaign during transit and to inform communities how to stay connected with Reader’s Digest.

     Turtle custom built a steel frame system on the side of the RV which displayed a magnetic map of the United States. The map featured individual magnetic states which were a part of a game that Reader’s Digest Ambassadors used to interact with the community and generate media exposure at each tour stop. Community attendees were asked to test their geography skills and place all the states in the correct order. Those who were up for the challenge could win branded t-shirts and other prizes.

     With $5 million in funds, the stimulus supports a host of projects selected by the towns themselves, including parks and recreation, tourism, civic works and economic development. The campaign’s highly integrated social media tie-in and interactive website asks community members to cheer online for their town. In addition to accepting 10 votes a day per person, the contest asks cheer participants to explain what they think the prize money should be used for if the city wins.

     The more clicks and cheers a community sends in, the greater the chance it will win financial support. As part of the contest, the Reader’s Digest promotional RV will visit 100 of the top voted locations. Reader’s Digest Ambassadors will distribute checks ranging from $1,000 to $40,000 to mayors of cities on the tour. “We Hear You America” voting will continue online until Feb. 7th. At the end of the tour, Reader's Digest will give away the RV to a lucky winner who enters its campaign sweepstakes online.
