INNOVATIVE COMCAST TOWN COMES TO FENWAY PARK
Pop-up Retail Store for Comcast Promotes New Launch of Red Sox On Demand
For the premier of Red Sox On Demand, Comcast Cable reached out to Turtle Transit to creatively design an immersive pop-up retail store to promote the release and its product offerings. Strategically positioned at Boston’s very own Fenway Park, the 400 square foot store is located on Yawkey Way, directly across from the entrance gates to the ball park.
Turtle designed the retail store, with the intention of bringing to life the online website – ComcastTown.com. “Our goal was to capture the imagination, provide interactivity, and product awareness to current and potential Comcast customers,” says Joe Doyon, General Manager of Turtle Transit. The store features numerous three-dimensional objects, pop-up buildings, focal points, interactive stations, and Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster. The retail environment was fully branded, advertising Comcast services and showcasing the all new Red Sox On Demand access program.
Comcast Town incorporated some of the latest technologies, and featured 50’’ HD plasma TVs, iMac computer stations, illuminated signage and LED displays for brand messages, and DVD playback. Turtle also provided interior/exterior sound systems. Comcast Town uses its interactive multisensory technologies to engage with outside traffic around Fenway Park, welcoming ball park attendees to enter inside, and experience the innovative retail environment.
The store operates under the supervision of brand ambassadors for Comcast, who are available to assist consumers with any questions they may have about Red Sox On Demand or other digital cable services. For the launch of Comcast Town, Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Sam Kennedy, and mascot Wally the Green Monster attended a ribbon cutting ceremony. Comcast Town is open for two hours prior to every Red Sox home game at Fenway Park, for traffic to experience the Pop-Up Retail Store on Yawkey Way. Special advertisements inviting Red Sox fans to visit Comcast Town are broadcast live during home games on various New England sports channels.

WELLS FARGO REVAMPS MOBILE PROGRAM WITH TURTLE FOR A THIRD YEAR IN A ROW
Promotional Vehicle Program Invites Consumers to Photograph their Experience
Turtle Transit was thrilled when Wells Fargo’s new experiential agency; Fancy reached out to revamp its promotional vehicle program for a third consecutive year. Turtle first refurbished the custom 28’ gooseneck trailer and branded tow truck back in 2006, after its first year on the road with the Fun of Money Tour. The mobile program blends together fun and financial education through a variety of interactive activities for young adults.
With an interactive environment beyond the base vehicle, the mobile program experience featured a stage with a DJ and karaoke, branded foosball and bank shot gaming, custom money vaults with prizes, and three photo booths inside the custom gooseneck trailer. Event attendees could enter the trailer and take their picture in one of three photo booths. Customized digital photos were instantly printed and available for attendees to take home.
After launching two successful tours in 2007 and 2008, Turtle worked with Fancy to refurbish and refresh the custom trailer and tow vehicle, incorporating new gaming elements into the experience. Turtle designed and fabricated a custom branded bean-bag toss and installed branded graphics to an all new golf putting green. Updated graphics were installed on all previous gaming stations, including the foosball table and bank-shot free throw game.
Turtle serviced and detailed the custom trailer, including upgrading the interior photo booths with new digital software and camera flashes. As trends in social media continue to expand with young adults, the custom photo booths will now instantly send pictures to Facebook where attendees can upload and add to their profile. New graphics wraps were installed on both the gooseneck trailer and towing vehicle.
