                                    CUSTOM UN-FLIPPIN’ BELIEVABLE SAMPLING VEHICLE

Ben & Jerry’s Mobile Program Expected to Hand Out 40,000 Samples

In order to generate buzz and awareness of their Flipped Out sundaes, Ben & Jerry’s called out to Turtle Transit, their valued proven partner of various successful mobile marketing campaigns, to creatively design a flipped out promotional vehicle for its summer sampling tour. Turtle took on the thrilling objective of taking the flipped out concept, and fabricating a box truck upside down on another, giving it the optical illusion of two trucks in one.

Flipped Out, its first personal size sundae, is an upside down treat with all the toppings on the bottom of a unique container, where consumers must flip it upside down to release the sundae. Turtle designed and fabricated the custom cab of the upside down truck with aluminum facade which was remarkably identical to an actual cab of a truck. A custom cab grill, exhaust stacks, windshield wipers, and other accents were added to the vehicle to give it a realistic look, while additional truck lighting and tires helped create the vehicle’s optical illusion. Inside the box truck, Turtle installed four freezers, including one branded rolling cart freezer to store the ice cream samples for its national cross country tour.

Expected to distribute over 40,000 samples, the Ben & Jerry’s Flipped Out sampling vehicle will travel on a national tour, generating awareness and driving trial for its new products in high traffic locations. The tour will kick off on the east coast in Burlington, VT on May 30th and plan to visit the west coast by June.

OSCAR MAYER LUNCHABLES “LUNCH YOUR TUMMY RIGHT TOUR”

Cool Bus Buzzing with Interactivity in Youth Markets

In late May, Turtle partnered with experiential marketing agency Pierce Promotions to develop a mobile marketing program for Oscar Mayer Lunchables client. The program will travel nationally this summer. The “cool bus,” an actual school bus, was fully customized and detailed by Turtle at their fabrication studios in Lancaster, MA. The bus involved several creative modifications, including lowering its suspension, modifications to the front of the bus, and a new custom fiberglass hood and cowl.

Turtle fabricated a new custom chrome grill with accents along the front, and an aluminum skirt was also wrapped around the exterior of the bus. The bus exterior was also repainted with luminescent pearl yellow color. Guaranteed to create a buzz, Turtle added custom chrome rims, a dual exhaust, and a one of a kind custom spoiler on the roof. Turtle removed all the seats inside the bus and created four interactive gaming stations. Each station incorporated mounted LCD flat screen televisions and Xbox 360 gaming consoles.

The inside of the bus was fully branded and detailed with custom graphics, diamond plate accents, tinted windows, and the driver’s seat reupholstered with a custom racing cover. Turtle fabricated an electrical storage room in the back of the vehicle, which also incorporated a wheelchair lift for handicap access. Exterior spot graphics, branding, as well as black racing stripes along the roof of the bus were also applied by Turtle, to insure a head turning mobile experience. The Lunch Your Tummy Right Tour began in Memphis, TN and will end in California on August 23rd.
