BURGER KING UNVEILS NEW CROWN IN A BIG WAY
Turtle Transit Constructs Guinness World Records Largest Aluminum Crown
To unveil Burger King’s new BK Crown ™ Program for kids, Grand Central Marketing reached out to Turtle Transit to construct a massive 60-foot crown for a P.R stunt to honor the Statue of Liberty’s 125th birthday. Just as impressive as Lady Liberty’s crown, the immersive 15-foot high by 19-foot wide BK crown was constructed out of aluminum and mounted onto a steel and aluminum deck designed to mimic the new interactive BK kids meal box. Turtle wrapped the deck and crown in vibrant large format graphics which allowed for viewers to see the mobile exhibit from a far.
To unveil the mobile exhibit in a big way, Grand Central Marketing arranged the crown to float down the Hudson River on a barge towards Liberty Island to celebrate the Lady’s birthday. Turtle sent a team of its craftsmen to New York to assist Grand Central Marketing in assembling the crown onsite. The massive BK crown generated enormous buzz and media attention as it floated its way to Liberty Island. At Liberty Island, Guinness World Records held an inauguration to induct Burger King as a record holder for constructing the largest aluminum crown. Burger King also donated $125,000 to the Statue of Liberty’s restoration fund.
Turtle Transit was extremely honored and proud to have helped Burger King and Grand Central Marketing design and build the Guinness World Records ™ largest aluminum crown to celebrate the Statue of Liberty’s 125th birthday.
