NOW PLAYING: NETFLIX PROMOTES “WATCH INSTANTLY”
Interactive Glass Box Truck Turns Heads in North Carolina

To promote its one month free trial and superb technology for streaming TV and movies from today’s top gaming consoles, Netflix made appearances at major events in North Carolina sporting a high-tech glass box truck. The head-turning mobile marketing vehicle was built by Turtle Transit for a promotional activation executed by On The Go Marketing.

Turtle faced a tight timeline of only three weeks to design and build the immersive glass box truck. To accommodate its short production schedule, Turtle’s sister company, AdVehicles, leased the tour an 18’ glass box truck for the promotional activation. Turtle’s first objective was to refurbish the vehicle with several critical modifications. The first step was to install an HVAC system and rooftop venting to expel heat from inside the vehicle. Turtle also installed fluorescent lighting and a generator to power the experience.

Turtle’s electrical team was tasked with assisting the activation’s electronic technicians, who were responsible for installing the program’s many devices, gaming consoles, and sound system. Turtle facilitated the wiring for the electronics, rooftop antennae for Wi-Fi connection, outdoor speakers, and installed weather resistant rooftop boxes to protect all electrical connections from inclement weather.

The goal of the program was for consumers to approach the vehicle and watch streaming media from four interactive viewing areas. Consumers could also view two display areas, which featured gaming consoles and devices which allow Netflix customers to instantly stream unlimited shows and movies from their home.

Turtle designed and fabricated six recessed boxes to serve as different stations for each of the six glass panel windows. Turtle installed custom graphics inside the four interactive boxes. The boxes were also fashioned with LED lighting and decorative crown molding shelves to display four devices for streaming Netflix programming. The activation’s electronics technicians mounted commercial flat screen TVs inside the boxes and connected the devices via Wi-Fi to stream media outdoors.

Each of the four interactive boxes connected to a different device, offering consumers a unique experience at each window display. To keep the experience intimate for consumers, Turtle fabricated an exterior console box, which allowed tour staff to access remotes for controlling the volume for each interactive station. Turtle branded the two center display boxes with graphic messaging, and also included a decorative crown molding shelf which displayed four devices. The exterior of the truck was wrapped with a vibrant graphic wrap to capture consumer attention at events.

As consumers approached the experience, they could interact with brand ambassadors and receive live demonstrations at each interactive window. The devices handheld controllers were accessible to consumers and could be used outside the truck at each interactive station. The Netflix custom glass box truck travelled in and around North Carolina for two weeks visiting a number of exciting events, including professional college football games.

DELL STREAKS ACROSS AMERICA TO PROMOTE NEW HANDHELD DEVICE
Custom Portable Exhibit Creates a Brand Immersion on Multi-City Tour

To promote the all new Dell Streak, a portable handheld entertainment, social connection and navigation device, Turtle Transit custom built a mobile exhibit for a promotional activation executed by Mosaic. The 14’ X 14’ exhibit featured a portable 12’ circular stage which displayed 10 Dell streak devices mounted to industrial-like product stands. The product display stands were positioned around the stage to offer a 360° experience to consumers.

Dell Streak-inspired mannequins were positioned in the center of the stage and were painted by local artists at events. The “Streaking” mannequins generated engagement and interest at tour locations and cleverly tied-in the “Streak” tour message to consumers. A custom branded saddlespan tent was mounted over the product stage, and provided the exhibit with exciting depth and dimension. The unique design of the tent captured consumer attention from afar, while providing shade and protection for the stage.

Turtle fabricated a number of exciting event elements among the exhibit footprint, including a custom branded registration kiosk, a promotional triangluar floor sign, and branded teardrop banners. Turtle also provided two outdoor SunBrite TVs to play promotional media. The TVs were mounted on custom media stands to allow flexibility for tour staff to position them anywhere outdoors. Turtle’s sister company, Ad Vehicles, also leased the tour a 16’ box truck to transport the exhibit program on tour. Turtle branded the box truck with vibrant graphics to promote the Dell tour during transit.

The Dell Streak Across America Tour will travel to popular city hangouts, music festivals and sporting events to promote the launch of the new Dell Streak. While consumers are a part of the Dell Streak experience, brand ambassadors will offer them the chance to demo the device and enter to win a free Dell Streak.
