TJ Maxx | Discover Your Inner Elf Campaign

Experiential Efforts: P.R Stunt, Buzz-WOMM, Point-of-Sale

Solution: TJ Maxx launched a media stunt featuring 100 holiday elves marching through New York City, led by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley and Mrs. Clause. The stunt was part of the Discover Your Inner Elf Campaign that distributed a holiday gift guide to customers that included a special game piece element to drive instore traffic. To push consumers to retail, Turtle Transit was tasked by TJ Maxx to design a glass box truck that featured gift ideas from the guide merchandised in holiday themed shadow boxes with ambient lighting and decorating ideas. Elves travelled with the custom glass box truck and handed out t-shirts, candy canes and holiday gift guides to communities in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Boston. The Discover Your Elf Campaign brought good cheer, tips, tricks and a variety of budget-friendly gift ideas to consumers during the holiday season.

Verizon Wireless | Super Bowl Photo Op

Program Objective: Activate an interactive photo opportunity as part of the Verizon Welcome Pavilion at MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl 48.

Experiential Efforts: B-2-C, Sponsorship Activation, Digital Activation

Solution: Turtle Transit sculpted two giant 7-ft football helmets for an interactive photo opportunity held inside the Verizon Welcome Pavilion at Super Bowl 48. The helmets were finished with paint and large format graphics to recreate the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks regulation helmets at a larger scale. Turtle Transit sent a team of craftsmen to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to install the photo op at the Verizon Pavilion. Super Bowl attendees waiting in line to enter the stadium could take their photo with the giant helmets and share it on Instagram using a custom hashtag developed by Verizon Wireless.

Call of Duty | Modern Warfare Launch

Program Objective: Execute an epic launch party for the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare game in Union Square NYC.

Experiential Efforts: B-2-C, P.R Stunt, Buzz-WOMM, Sponsorship Activation

Solution: For the most highly anticipated video game release, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Turtle Transit helped transform a tented structure into an urban war zone for a celebrity release party Activision held in Union Square, NYC. The structure was finished with metal walls with glass windows and vinyl accents to create the look of a military bunker. The tent was decorated with camouflage, military netting, and monitors looping the launch trailer. A custom pipe scaffolding structure was the entrance inside the tent. Inside the tent, Microsoft installed 54 integrated multi-player Xbox 360 gaming kiosks with overhead HD video displays that mirrored that game for guests to watch. Celebrity DJ Jazzy Jeff and Questlove of the Roots, were spinning tracks close by a special VIP area that catered to celebrities like Nick Swisher, Jerry Hairston, Cole Hamels, Ice-T and James Gandolfini. Before the clock struck midnight, fans were offered the chance to attend the launch party and demo the game first-hand. The P.R stunt was one of the most highly publicized launch parties for a video game release.

Ben Cohen | True Majority “Piggy” Stunt

Program Objective: Launch an experiential political stunt in protest to the Pentagon’s budget management.

Experiential Efforts: P.R Stunt, Grassroots, Cause Marketing

Solution: Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, tasked Turtle Transit to design and build a mobile marketing vehicle for a political stunt to protest the Pentagon’s budget surplus. New Yorkers were treated to a parade of Rolling Piggies, with a 12-ft rolling piggy bank representing the Pentagon budget that towed two small piggy banks – proportionately representing the US budget for education and world hunger. The piggy fleet represented Ben Cohen and his organization True Majority, and garnered an enormous amount of media and press.

Prilosec OTC | Mini Monster Truck

Program Objective: Design a Mini Monster Truck giveaway for the Prilosec OTC “You Can’t Beat Zero” sweepstakes.

Experiential Efforts: B-2-C, P.R., Sponsorship Activation

Solution: As part of Prilosec OTC’s sponsorship with NASCAR and partnership with Larry The Cable Guy, Turtle Transit was tasked to design and build a custom “Mini Monster Truck,” for the “You Can’t Beat Zero” event sweepstakes. At each stop, celebrity comedian, Larry The Cable Guy, would show fans why you can’t beat zero by hosting Prilosec OTC’s first-ever “Zero Burn Games.” Racing fans had the opportunity to win the ultimate tailgate accessory – a “monster” utility vehicle with two tickets to partake in the 2014 stock car race. Turtle Transit transformed a Gator ATV into the smallest, yet meanest looking Monster Truck on the road today. A custom fiberglass body, mud tires, vibrant graphics and off-road accessories were among the many details showcased on the Prilosec OTC Mini Monster Truck.

BNP Paribas | Outdoor Exhibit

Program Objective: Create a memorable exhibit to support MillionTreesNYC Month and encourage the community to donate to the cause.

Experiential Efforts: Cause Marketing, Sponsorship Activation, P.R. Stunt

Solution: As part of its sponsorship of MillionTreesNYC month, an initiative to plant one million trees in New York City by 2017, Turtle Transit constructed a beautiful travelling greenhouse for BNP Paribas to educate the community of the cause. The traveling greenhouse contained a number of exhibits about the MillionTreesNYC initiative and informational stations to inspire New Yorkers to make a change for the better. The greenhouse was also equipped with interactive touch screens that enabled online donations which were 100% tax deductible. The greenhouse was part of a major Arbor Day celebration in Brooklyn, NY. Celebrity and Founder of the New York Restoration Project, Bette Midler, joined over 200 BNP Paribas volunteers and 200 students plant 120 trees in McCarren Park.
